The
Challenge
In the build up to the last Federal Elections, the Climate Institute (both a not for profit and non-partisan organisation) began circulating an assessment of each political party’s environmental policies in order to educate voters.
The
Strategy
Targeting the marginal electorates across Australia, PLAY handed out free ice cream cones in order to spread the global warming message. Quite literally while the ice creams were melting in people’s hands.
The
Experience
Taking a humorous approach to a serious issue, voters where handed free ice creams bearing the message from the campaign’s fictitious 9 year old president elect, Jack Simmons saying, “its your vote, but its my future”.
The
Results
33,00 Ice-creams were distributed
20,000 petition signatures were collected
4 Minutes of national TV coverage was generated
